A three volume set with slip case of items auctioned from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor estate on September 11-19, 1997 (which was not held until February 1998 due to the death of Princess Diana.) The lots range from large scale pieces of furniture from their homes in France to many personal items of memorabilia, some of which dated back to the brief time when the Duke was known as Edward VIII, together with items from the wedding and other very personal pieces. The first volume is an introduction to the sale and the Windsors. It contains multiple essays on the couple, their lineage, their life, photographs of them, and much more.
